The Remote Training Aid
Top Class K-9 LLC Remote Training Philosophy
The dog must be taught the appropriate response to the commands before compliance can be expected. The handler must NEVER use the remote training aid as a “punishment tool” to deliver a hurtful reprimand to the dog. The dog’s development will be negatively impacted by the incorrect and inhumane use of remote training aids.
In the Top Class K-9 Off-Leash classes and programs you will be instructed by a Certified Remote Collar Trainer on how to use the many motivators, tools and rewards appropriately to teach your dog the correct response to any given command.
The remote training aid is used in conjunction with these motivators and rewards to assist the dog in focusing on the learned commands.
Many people reject the use of remote training aids because they feel it is negative reinforcement.
Logic dictates that any physical restraint, however humane it may seem and however justified by the user, still qualifies as a coercive influence.

“A tool is only as humane as the hand that holds it and the generosity of the spirit that controls its use.” Sylvie M. Nuzzolilo
